Keeping the cooking environment clean:
Keeping your cooking environment clean is very important in the kitchen. Benches, floors, bins and equipment are all things that carry bacteria if they are dirty, do you really want all that bacteria on your food? Follow these easy rules to keep your cooking environment clean.
Benches:
Keeping benches clean consists of wiping them down regularly and then being sure to dry them well so bacteria doesn't grow. Not only should you wipe the benches down before and after preparing food but consider about making a habit of wiping them more regularly to get rid of dust that has settled on the bench.
Floor:
Be sure to always mop the floor after cooking to ensure that food and grease residue will not become a trip hazard and to be sure that bacteria wont grow. Food and grease residue is caused when substances spill on the floor such as oil, flour, sugar, water, etc. but you may not clean them well enough when it happens so it is always a good idea to mop up after cooking to make sure no one slips and that bacteria wont grow on the residue.
Bins:
It is very important to clean your kitchen bin often because bacteria will start to grow on all of the food particles that are thrown away and bacteria causes illness which is why we don't want it in our home. Taking out the bin often will help to prevent bacteria but also wiping down the bin with an antibacterial wipe after you take it out each time will also help kill any bacteria that has settled there.
Equipment and electrical appliances:
Always be sure to clean all kitchen equipment and electrical appliances after use so that bacteria doesn't build up. Cleaning equipment consists of washing them in hot soapy water to kill all of the germs. Cleaning electrical appliances is very different though, never wash them in hot soapy water or under running water always just wipe them down with an antibacterial wipe.
